You Asked The OA ... and We Delivered
The Orinda Association (OA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life in Orinda. We encourage dialogue amongst our Orinda residents on critical issues and help mobilize volunteer efforts to enhance the beauty, character and security of our lovely town.
The Orinda News, July 4 Celebration, Classic Car Show and Seniors Around Town (SAT) meet two of the three objectives very well – beauty and character. As for the third pillar, security, we’ve got that covered too.
Risk Related Videos on The OA YouTube Channel
Earlier this year, Orindans voiced concerns about security, so The OA planned and supported existing security crime prevention efforts by hosting a Public Forum in April 2024 on security and crime prevention in concert with Orinda City officials.
We are happy to report that “Crime Prevention in Orinda,” along with two previously produced videos – “Staying Safe in Orinda” and “Orinda Wildfire Emergency Preparedness and Evacuation”– have made their way to The OA YouTube channel at youtube.com/@orindaassociationvideos/videos. These videos offer Orindans ways in which they can be more resilient, strengthening their families’ and community’s efforts to continue to enjoy the serenity this town is known for.
OA Board Elections
A non-profit’s board members are an important ingredient in helping make things happen effectively, efficiently and constructively. While The OA is blessed with excellent staff support, it’s important that the board member composition continues to represent our community’s interests, be responsive to the families within our community, understand and have experienced good governance and have the time, energy and skill to implement needed initiatives.
In short, we need you! If you are interested in joining The OA board, please contact The OA Co-Presidents Chris Laszcz-Davis at ChrisLD@EQ-Organization.com or Kelly Sopak at ksopak@comcast.net.
A Big Thank You to Orinda’s Volunteers
At The OA, we are thankful for the incredible volunteer spirit in Orinda. Many residents stepped forward to drive seniors to various appointments. These efforts made a significant difference in their lives, while enriching the drivers’ lives through new friendships formed. We’ve also seen record numbers of sign-ups for the 4th of July celebrations and the Classic Car Show. And finally, The OA is thankful for The Orinda News, the best newspaper around, featuring key local issues, our residents and their passions, local happenings and more. Don’t forget to donate this year to maintain all these wonderful services.
Enjoy the rest of the fall … we live in a gorgeous area!
