Arts Contra Costa County (ARTSCCC) recently awarded a $2,000 District Arts Partner grant to Board members Bill Carmel and Elana O’Loskey on behalf of the Lamorinda Arts Council (LAC). It is awarded to Contra Costa-based arts organizations that provide meaningful support for artists such as exhibitions, directories, opportunities, advocacy and community partnerships. Carmel and O’Loskey attended the ARTSCCC Happy Hour at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek on Nov. 21, 2024. The event honored local arts partners and was underwritten by the Lesher Foundation and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.
The award seeks to strengthen and empower art organizations who fill gap services by acknowledging their important work. ARTSCCC recognizes Lamorinda Arts Council as an important community partner and leader in the Contra Costa arts ecosystem. Carmel said, “These funds will be used to continue offering exhibitions and other events that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.” LAC celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2025.
