The aging Orinda Theatre – built in 1941 – is a challenge to maintain and operate, and owner Derek Zemrak will break new ground with an April 11 fundraiser in the venerable building. For the first time ever, a play will be performed on the main stage, and starring in “Box and Cox” is Robert Picardo, who is familiar to Star Trek: Voyager fans for his role as the doctor, and has also appeared in China Beach, The Wonder Years and Stargate. This time, though, he will show off his vocal skills, starring in the Lamplighters Music Theatre production of “Cox and Box, or, The Long-Lost Brothers,” a one-act comedic opera first performed in 1866.
