Make the 4th a happy one
The Orinda 4th of July parade and party will soon be here, and let’s make the day a great one. After all, we have so much to celebrate.
• We celebrate the freedoms we enjoy.
• We celebrate the many volunteer organizations and the volunteers who give so much to our community.
• We celebrate our civic leaders, who have provided us a smooth-running city government since incorporation.
• We celebrate the Moraga-Orinda Fire District, which works non-stop to reduce our fire risk, and our police, who work to keep us safe.
• We celebrate our men and women in the armed forces, and the veterans leading our parade, for their many contributions.
• We celebrate our schools, and the teachers who give their all while teaching our kids.
• We celebrate the musical and arts activities in the community that lift our hearts.
• We celebrate our sports teams and swim clubs, and the wonderful youth leaders that inspire our young people.
• We celebrate our many houses of worship.
• We celebrate the tradition of polite civic discourse.
• We celebrate our neighbors.
• And we celebrate so much more…
So come to either side of Orinda on July 4th, and look up and down the
street at your fellow members of the Orinda family, decked out in red, white and blue watching the parade; take in the sight of beautiful faces and happy smiles; take a deep breath – and celebrate!
