Proud parents and kids, not to mention delighted supporters, filled the Orinda Library’s Richard Hegge Plaza, art gallery and auditorium on April 25, to celebrate the 17th Annual Arts Ambassadors Event. Presented by the Lamorinda Arts Council and the Orinda Network for Education, the program supports arts education and the dedication of art teachers at Orinda’s schools. The exhibit showcased artwork – in a range of mediums from drawing to digital art to sculpture – by more than 100 students at Orinda’s elementary schools and Orinda Intermediate School. During the artist’s reception, students and their families were entertained by the Orinda Intermediate School Jazz Band and the Elementary Chamber Ensemble. Ribbons to commemorate their artwork were given to the young “Art Ambassadors” and there was no shortage of smiling faces among the proud students and family members.
