Orinda’s elementary school choirs joined together to perform at last year’s tree lighting event.

Get in the spirit of the holiday season at the 33rd annual Hospice Tree of Lights ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 7, cosponsored by Hospice East Bay and the Orinda Rotary. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. in front of Bank of America in the Orinda Village, with performances by Orinda’s elementary and middle school choirs, followed by the lighting of the majestic oak tree that presides over the parking lot. In keeping with tradition, Santa Claus will make a special visit, with a fire truck serving as his sleigh for the evening.
Visitors can honor loved ones that have passed away by purchasing memorial lights on the tree, with proceeds going to Hospice East Bay in support of their mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care. For more information on purchasing a light or to donate to Hospice East Bay, go to www.hospiceeastbay.org.
