
Family and friends of Virginia “Ginny” Ruble plan to gather Jan. 18 to remember the life of the long-time Orinda resident.
Mrs. Ruble was born Sept. 11, 1937 and passed away on Dec. 16. In addition to the 44 years she spent in Orinda, Mrs. Ruble lived for 22 years in Minnesota, 14 years in San Francisco and two years in Scotts Valley, according to her son Scott Ruble (Miramonte Class of 1989).
Mrs. Ruble was a former president of The Orinda Association, which at the time of her involvement was known as the Orinda Newcomers Club.
She also was active in the Lamorinda community, serving as a volunteer or board member with many organizations over the years including Holy Shepherd Church, Orinda Park Pool (team mom), Orinda Cub Scouts Pack 225 (Den mother), the Moraga Garden Club (past president), the Orinda Community Center, and the Lamorinda Adult Respite Center.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Ruble is survived by her daughter-in-law Leslie Ruble, grandsons Becket and Hayden, and sister Mavis Erbel.
The family invites friends to a celebration of life memorial at 11 a.m. Jan. 18 at Holy Shepherd Church, 433 Moraga Way, Orinda.
