Orinda is the latest BART station with new fare gates, which were installed last month. The gates make it much harder to avoid paying the fare, and will enhance the safety and security of the system. Orinda is the 15th of the 21 stations to receive the new gates. Installation of the gates on the entire BART system will be complete by the end of April.
