What better way to celebrate a birthday than with lots of ice cream?
So that’s just what the City of Orinda will do on Tuesday, July 1, when it will sponsor an ice cream social for the community after a special 6 p.m. City Council meeting.
In honor of the city’s 40th birthday, the special meeting will pay tribute to its founders, followed by ice cream on the Upper Library Plaza.
A parade might be pushing it for a birthday celebration, but the city will sponsor a special cable car in the 4th of July parade, which will also recognize those who were involved in Orinda’s incorporation.
