The Orinda Ballet Company will bring “Sleeping Beauty” to life May 16-18 at the Orinda Library Auditorium, with two Lamorinda girls, Bailey Brothers and Sadie Elkin, dancing the title role opposite Lawrence Chen, a professional dancer with the Oakland Ballet. Patricia Tomlinson, the artistic director at the Orinda Ballet, choreographed the classic work, with its music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Tickets are $25 in advance (through Eventbrite) and $30 the day of the show. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday.
