No longer is a Clipper card required to pay BART fares – now, any common credit or debit card will work, and all that’s needed is a tap on the entrance gate. The Tap and Ride system does require that the same credit or debit card be used to enter and exit the system, but otherwise it’s a pretty simple system. Note, however, that all riders using Tap and Ride will be charged full adult fees.
