The City of Orinda has launched OrindaReady.com, a centralized wildfire preparedness website designed to help residents prepare for, respond to and understand wildfire and evacuation scenarios.
The site serves as a one-stop resource for wildfire safety information, evacuation planning, emergency alerts, defensible space and home-hardening guidance and emergency preparedness checklists.
It consolidates information from city departments and partner agencies to help Orindans take proactive steps to protect their families, homes and neighborhoods.
A key feature is public access to advanced fire and evacuation modeling powered by Ladris. The city developed more than 100 wildfire and evacuation scenarios that account for traffic, terrain, wind, fire behavior and road conditions, giving residents insight into how different factors could affect evacuation timing and routes.
City officials say the site builds on Orinda’s ongoing wildfire resilience and emergency preparedness efforts. Residents are encouraged to visit OrindaReady.com ahead of wildfire season.
