Dancing WITHOUT the Cars puts the “boo” in boogie as the Rotary Club of Orinda swaps horsepower for Halloween spirit at its annual fundraiser. Guests are invited to don their best costumes, enjoy dinner and dancing, and support Rotary’s community projects on Oct. 30 at the Orinda/Wilder Art and Garden Center.
Forget horsepower – this year, Rotary Club of Orinda is sponsoring the boo in boogie. Its annual fundraiser, Dancing WITHOUT the Cars, returns with costumes, cocktails, dinner, dancing and enough Halloween spirit to keep the party moving all night. Or at least until 10 p.m.
Dancing WITHOUT the Cars brings a spooky twist to this Rotary event, putting a Halloween spin on its annual fundraiser, set for Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Orinda/Wilder Art and Garden Center, 20 Orinda Fields Lane.
This year’s event trades the classic-car theme for a “Spooktacular” costume party, inviting guests to dress up, dance and support Rotary’s community projects. The all-inclusive evening will feature cocktails, appetizers, dinner, dessert and dancing, along with silent and live auctions, “full of wonderful items that are sure to cast a spell.”
Tickets are $100 per person or $700 for a table of eight. Proceeds from the fundraiser support a variety of Orinda Rotary charitable projects.
Founded in 1949 with a commitment to service, the Rotary Club of Orinda has supported the community and beyond for more than 75 years.
Its efforts have helped establish and improve local institutions, facilities and programs, including the Orinda Community Center, Wagner Ranch Nature Area and the annual Frank Isola Field Day, Spring Egg Hunt, Opera-in-the-Park community concert and Teacher of the Year luncheon.
Rotary also supports Miramonte High School scholarships, the Contra Costa Food Bank, Olympics of the Mind and community fundraising events such as Dancing with the Cars.
