On Nov. 15, the Orinda Woman’s Club (OWC) will host the 2018 Festival of Trees, the organization’s biggest fundraiser now in its 32nd year. The event will take place at the San Ramon Marriott Hotel (2600 Bishop Drive) and will include a festive luncheon and a fashion show featuring designer clothing from Helen Lyall and emceed by Dan Ashley of Channel 7 News. Attendees will be invited to bid on silent auction items including three beautiful quilts by Liz Piatt, a signed football by Steve Young with authenticity certificate, a round of golf at the Contra Costa Country Club, two one-night certificates (that can be used on the same weekend) at the Hotel Griffon in San Francisco, and much more. OWC will also raffle off beautifully decorated gift baskets, wreaths and table-top trees and will offer up two special destination raffles with the chance to win two nights at the Claremont Hotel and Spa or two nights at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with a $200 dining credit.

OWC has selected two nonprofits as this year’s major beneficiaries, the Contra Costa Crisis Center and the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Contra Costa (NAMICC). The Contra Costa Crisis Center provides 24-hour support hotlines, as well as face-to-face grief counseling, homeless services, and a 211 information and referral program to keep people alive and safe during times of personal crisis. NAMICC  provides support, outreach, education and advocacy to individuals and families living with mental illness.
