More than 200 people came out to the Orinda Community Center Park on July 28 to enjoy Opera in the Park, a co-production of Orinda Rotary and Solo Opera. The concert was a mix of opera and musical theater favorites and was well-received by the audience watching from open seating on the park’s lawn. The Rotary credits Jennifer Weiss and the Orinda Parks and Recreation staff with making the arrangements needed to ensure a smooth and successful event. Sylvia Amorino, Solo Opera artistic director, says, “It was a lovely concert and the audience seemed to really enjoy the event. We had so many compliments afterwards, especially from children and families this time. It was wonderful to see our mission of fostering a new generation of opera lovers coming to life.”
