Proponents of parks and recreation, those who enjoy being outdoors or whose children are active in Orinda’s recreational programs are encouraged to join the Orinda Park and Rec Foundation Board of Directors (OPRF).
OPRF was formed in 1975 by residents wishing to convert the surplus Orinda Elementary School site into a community center. Since that time, the foundation has raised more than $2 million to fund recreational programs and purchase land for open space and parks.
The board meets monthly on Tuesday evenings at the library. For more information, go to OPRFoundation.org or contact Carolyn Mills at 925-254-5292.
