All-Call Support for Our Best Hometown Parade

The Orinda Association Board wishes everyone a happy Spring Equinox (March 20), a time for renewal, reflection, redemption and celebration. From “National Dadgum That’s Good Day” and Mardi Gras (March 1) to March Madness and National California Strawberry Day (March 13 and March 21 respectively), March is a month of abundance in our sweet semi-rural village of Orinda.
We are busily making plans for our famous Orinda 4th of July “Best Hometown Parade.” The parade will be Monday, July 4, at 10 a.m. sharp. Mark the date on your calendars and consider entering your group in the parade, or plan to attend with friends and family (safe distancing and other protocols will be announced on the OA website – www.orindaassociation.org).
While April is officially National Volunteer Month, we are raising the flag early and launching an all-call for volunteers for this ongoing city treasure. Please consider volunteering and/or donating!
The Orinda Association raises all funds to cover the parade costs. To have this year’s parade, we need to raise the funds to pay for it, necessitating our early all-call volunteer/ fundraising campaign. We will gratefully accept donations of all amounts to support the Parade. These much-needed funds will directly pay for entertainers and bands in the parade, insurance, equipment and other associated costs.
Finally, let’s not forget that March is about resilience: those first crocuses and daffodils coming through the frost. This month also marks the two-year anniversary of COVID-19 restrictions, which our community – including our acclaimed school system and our hardy small business owners – continue to skillfully navigate.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate hometown heroes during special days such as Absolutely Incredible Kid Day (March 17) and National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day (March 29).
We look forward to hearing from you during a hopeful start to 2022! Visit www.orindaassociation.org/4th-of-july-parade, call us at 925.254.0800 or email us at 4thofjuly@orindaassociation.org.
