Orinda’s Classic Car Show Fundraiser Helps Seniors Get Around Town
Sept. 7 marks the 20th year for the annual Orinda Classic Car Show. Every year the show attracts a wider range of exotics and classics with car aficionados coming from the entire Bay Area to admire these beauties and swap stories with the owners.
This year, thanks to our partner Cobra Experience, we are fortunate to have a number of ORIGINAL Shelby Cobra owners bringing their fabulous cars to the show, before they depart on their “Cobra 1000 Rally” the next day.
Also, in recognition of its 60th anniversary, we will feature many mid-1960’s Ford Mustangs – the best-selling car of its generation. We welcome all classic and exotic cars – and we’d love to have you enter your “special” car too (entries are open now, so don’t wait!).
This fun-filled event is also the primary fundraiser for Seniors Around Town (SAT).
For the past 19 years, SAT has provided free door-to-door transportation for Orinda seniors to medical appointments, errands and social events, helping senior residents to age in place, maintain their independence and connect with the community.
One grateful rider wrote, “Having no family available to help me and no longer driving myself at 90-years-old, I would be unable to keep my medical appointments or various other appointments were it not for SAT’s wonderful volunteers.”

Net proceeds of The Orinda Classic Car Show benefit The Orinda Association’s Seniors Around Town program. The remainder of funding for SAT comes from generous donors and community grants.
