The Livermore-based nonprofit, Pacific Chamber Orchestra (PCO), which also performs in Lafayette and other Bay Area venues, has created a new half-time administrative director position as it expands concerts, educational outreach, fundraising and community programs ahead of its 37th season.

The Livermore-based Pacific Chamber Orchestra (PCO) has created a half-time administrative director position as the organization expands its concerts, educational outreach, fundraising and community programs. A resident company at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore, PCO also performs in Lafayette and other Bay Area venues.
Music Director Lawrence Kohl said the orchestra has broadened its offerings since the pandemic, expanding Classics Concerts and educational programs, adding a family holiday concert, bringing emerging American composers to California and launching a fundraising event.
PCO’s upcoming 37th season includes three Classics concerts: Strings Alive, featuring Barber’s “Adagio for Strings”; Mozart Rocks Again; and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4. The season also features Handel’s Messiah, a Disney-themed family holiday concert, Winning Scores, school assemblies and the fourth annual Tri-Valley Craft Cocktail Competition.
According to the search committee, the new position will provide administrative leadership focused on concert promotion, development, community engagement and operational oversight.
The role offers opportunities to build relationships with patrons, donors, volunteers and board members, while providing behind-the-scenes access and flexible remote work tied to the concert season.
Founded in 1989, PCO is a regional ensemble and nonprofit organization that introduces classical music to more than 7,000 students annually through school assemblies and music enrichment programs.
