As always, the Soda Aquatic Center will be rocking when the 2026 Orinda Moraga Pool Association (OMPA) Championships take over the Campolindo High School pool.
The 69th annual OMPA Championships will run from Friday through Sunday, with more than 1,700 swimmers from nine different clubs in action.
Those clubs – Campolindo Cabana, Meadow Swim and Tennis, Moraga Country Club, Moraga Ranch, Moraga Valley Pool, Orinda Country Club (OCC), Orinda Park Pool and Sleepy Hollow Swim and Tennis – are familiar foes, and after a summer of head-to-head meets, they meet one more time.
The target is on the backs – or swimsuits – of the Orinda Country Club, which has won the Orinda Lions Perpetual Trophy 10 straight seasons.
Last year, Meadow Swim and Tennis finished second. (Note that the OCC streak could be longer, as team totals are not available prior to 2015.)
