Students with a passion for writing have a chance to win $500 and their moment of fame with 2019 Poul Anderson Creative Writing Contest.
The contest, sponsored by Friends of the Orinda Library, is open to students who live in Orinda or attend high school here. Entry categories are Science Fiction/Fantasy, Essay/Memoir/Biography, Poetry and Short Story. Students may submit one entry in any of the four categories with no more than three entries.
Submission deadline is Friday, April 19 at noon. The contest is named in honor of the late Poul Anderson, a popular science-fiction writer and Orinda resident.
