We’re ready to celebrate America’s 249th birthday

The annual 4th of July celebration in Orinda is just around the corner, so it’s not too early to put it on your calendar.
And after all, you wouldn’t want to miss our beloved hometown parade, which has become the centerpiece of a day of summer fun.
Along with the familiar participants, marching bands, performers, swim clubs and great cars, we’re excited to welcome a new entry: the Coffee Grinders. This group has gathered for weekday coffee for the past 20 years, meeting at various local coffee shops before settling at Cafe Teatro in the Community Center.
Founder Dave Anderson noted that Cafe Teatro’s outdoor seating accommodated their group during the pandemic and now these coffee enthusiasts will add their charm to our parade, a true reflection of Orinda’s small-town parade with pride and big heart.
Following the parade, the free Carnival in the Park offers family fun in the community park. Enjoy classic carnival games like ring toss and the cake walk, along with festive music from the water-balloon game trailer. The park will also feature food trucks, beer tents and a band performing at the Gazebo.
We are looking forward to seeing you on July 4th!

The parade includes many colorful spectators, such as this patriotic group from the 2018 parade.
