Milla Orbach, just a junior at Miramonte, qualified for her second straight appearance at the state track meet with a 125-foot, five-inch discus toss at the North Coast Section Meet of Champions (MOC).
That was good enough for second place at the MOC and earned her a spot at the California Interscholastic Federation meet at Buchanan High School in Clovis May 30 and 31.
Orbach did not qualify for the 12-person finals at the state meet, which was won by Jaslene Massey of Aliso Niguel with a 163-9 mark.
Ohrbach also finished sixth in the shot put at the MOC, a finish matched by Alex McManamon in the triple jump. McManamon also qualified in the high jump, long jump and 4×100 relay.
Other MOC participants were Alex Howe (discus), Logan Letulle (3,200 meters) and the quartet of Ryan Chan, James Rogers, Andrew Bjornson and McManamon (4×100 relay).
