Stylish British marques, timeless Chevys highlight Classic Car Show
Calling all vintage car lovers – especially those who admire British car brilliance. Yes, it’s time to rev up your inner engines for proper designs this year at the 21st annual Orinda Classic Car Show.
Hosted by The Orinda Association and sponsored by its founding sponsor, Orinda Motors, mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Orinda Village.
It’s where you’ll view more than 25 vintage British cars. And, not to be outdone, there will be many classic Chevrolets from the ‘60s and ‘70s, including Corvettes, Chevelles and Camaros.
Hence, the show’s theme is “Power Meets Precision,” featuring some of the best cars from over the “pond,” including the ever-popular MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars, not to mention the more exotic Bentleys, Rolls Royce and McLarens.
Come out and peruse these dream cars, talk to the owners and gain a new appreciation for the art of auto engineering and design.
The variety of cars on display means there is something to tickle everyone’s fancy: sports cars galore (from German marques Porsche and BMW, and British Triumphs, Minis, MGs and Lotus, to Chevy Corvettes and Shelby Cobras).
Plus, cars that epitomize luxury and style (Bentley and Rolls Royce, plus Packard and Cadillacs, and Mercedes too). Not to mention high-performance classics (Shelby Mustangs, Ferraris and “muscle cars” by Ford, Chevy and Chrysler).
But even if you or family members aren’t super “car freaks,” the show will still be a great time. We will have curated music that will put you in the mood, and car owners sharing their often-surprising tales about how they acquired their cars.
On site again will be Loard’s Ice Cream for the kids and Czech Beer supplied by the Orinda/Tabor Sister City Foundation for us older kids.
Of course, attendees will enjoy the food trucks and noontime entertainment supplied by the Lamorinda Idol winners, plus local history via Orinda Historical Society’s booth.
All proceeds support The OA’s Seniors Around Town (SAT) free ride program, and other OA community events. By coming out to the show you’ll be supporting this amazing OA program that has supplied hundreds of free rides to deserving Orinda seniors, year in and year out.
Come out and enjoy a great time for the entire family on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Orinda Village.
