It was certainly something special and something to celebrate – the 20th Annual Orinda Classic Car Show, a partnership between The Orinda Association, Orinda Motors, Orinda Classic Car Center and scores of sponsors. There was no lack of a good time when car fans of all ages – from Orinda and beyond – gathered along Orinda Way on Saturday, Sept. 7, for festivities that showcased some 200 classic cars, and included music, food and special exhibits.
The proceedings kicked off on Friday night, Sept. 6, at the Orinda Library with the gala “Dancing with the Cars” party hosted by Orinda Rotary and attended by a phalanx of who’s who in Orinda. An old west cowboy and mustang theme – in homage to the Shelby Cobras and Mustangs featured in the show – and some of the best barbeque set the mood for the car show-related events. And all the fun helped to benefit Seniors Around Town, a door-to-door transportation service provided to Orinda’s seniors at no charge.
