Why keep secrets? Let everyone know about the best hikes and trails in the area.

When it comes to accessible hiking trails, Orinda is hard to beat. From the East Bay Regional Park District – the largest urban regional park district in the United States with over 1,300 miles of trails – to EBMUD’s more than 50 miles of trails, Orinda residents can choose from more than 40 trailheads close to home.
But with so many choices, where to start? We want your input on the best hiking trails in the area so that all of us can enjoy the best of what the area has to offer.
How many of the trails have you tried – and what’s your favorite close-to-home hike?
So in 100 words or less, email the name and location of your favorite hike, a brief description of why you chose it, and any tips, such as degree of difficulty and the best season or time of day to go, to hattihamlin@comcast.net. Put “My favorite local hike” in the subject line. Include your name, address and phone number (not for publication, so we can follow up with you if necessary.)
We need your responses no later than June 10. A sampling of the top comments will appear in our June issue, along with a tally of reader selections.
